Rebuked by mother over mobile phone game, Odisha boy ends life

Bhawanipatna: An 11-year-old boy allegedly ended his life by hanging himself after his mother rebuked him for playing game on mobile phone at Malpada village under Kesinga police limits in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

According to reports, the deceased, identified as a class-V student, was reprimanded by his mother yesterday as he was playing a game on the mobile phone for a long period of time. She also criticised him for not paying attention towards studies.

Moments later, he went inside a room and took the extreme step by hanging himself with rope. Though he was rushed to Kesinga Hospital by his family members, doctors declared him dead there.

Police recovered the body for post-mortem and registered an unnatural death case into the incident.
