Recovered COVID-19 patient from West Bengal dies in Odisha hospital
Bhubaneswar: A coronavirus recovered patient, who was admitted to KIMS COVID19 Hospital in Bhubaneswar, died this morning due to hypopituitarism with septic shock and multi-organ failure, informed Information and Public Relation (I & PR) Department.
The deceased, a resident of Medinapur of West Bengal, was 44th positive patient of Odisha.
“The patient had previously been operated at a Bhubaneswar-based private hospital for pituitary tumor. When he had come for a follow-up treatment to the same hospital recently, he was detected COVID-19 positive,” the I & PR Department said.
After undergoing treatment, the man tested negative for the virus twice. Even though he had recovered from coronavirus, he could not be discharged due to his pre-existing medical complications. He passed away this morning due to hypopituirism with septic shock and multi organ failure, the department added.
