RED ALERT: ‘Severe Heat Wave’ very likely in these Odisha districts on April 26, 27

Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent North-westerly/Westerly dry air and high solar insolation, heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail over several districts of Odisha during April 26 and April 27, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during the day hours between 11.00 AM and 3.00 PM. Maximum (day) temperature is likely to rise by 2°C to 4°C during next three to four days at many places over the district of Odisha.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed marked fall at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of North Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Warm night condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Keonjhar, and Sambalpur.
