Red Zone Jajpur reports 1 more COVID-19 positive case; Odisha tally at 179

Jajpur: Odisha’s Jajpur district, which has been classified as Red Zone by the state Government with highest 54 COVID-19 confirmed cases, reported one more positive case today.

With this, the total count of Odisha rose to 179, informed Health and Family Welfare Department today.

The fresh case is a 65-year-old male and has travel history to Kolkata. Contact tracing and followup action of the new case is underway, the department said. Out of the total cases in the district, the number of active patients is 53.

In the state, there are total 117 active cases and 60 patients have recovered.Meanwhile, the state reported its second COVID-19 death after a 77-year-old patient, resident of Bhubaneswar, died of the deadly virus today.

Earlier in the day, two positive cases were reported from Balasore and Ganjam districts.
