Remuneration of Urdu teachers hiked in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a hike in the monthly remuneration of Urdu teachers in Odisha.

The government has hiked the monthly remuneration of Urdu teachers posted at Upper Primary, Middle English and High Schools in the state from Rs 7,400 to Rs 15,000, said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement today.

The state government has appointed Urdu teachers on contractual basis in some schools in Odisha. At least 10 students in these schools have opted for Urdu as their first language, sources said.

At least 44 Urdu teachers posted at Upper Primary and Middle English schools and 40 Urdu teachers of High schools will get the remuneration hike, said the CMO.
