Rengali Dam opens one gate to release flood water

Angul: The Rengali Dam authorities have opened one sluice gate of the reservoir this morning following an increase in the water level due to continuous rainfall in the upper catchment area.

The flood water was released through gate no 7 and power house into the lower basins of the Brahmani river around 9 am in presence of the Executive Engineer and Rengali Dam Authorities.

As per the sources, the water inflow into the dam was 1430 cusecs per second, while the water outflow from the reservoir was 2126 cusecs per second.

Meanwhile, the water level in the rengali dam stood at 123.33m against the storage capacity of 123.50m at full reservoir level.
