Reopening of schools for Class 1-8 students: Odisha Minister clears air

Bhubaneswar: Ending speculations regarding reopening of schools for students of Class 1 to 8 in Odisha, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today said physical classes for the said students will not resume for the time being.

Addressing mediapersons, the Minister said keeping in mind the resurgence of COVID-19 in Maharashtra and Gujarat, the decision regarding resumption of physical classes will be taken after review of the current situation in the state.

Earlier, it was speculated that physical classes of students from Class 1 to Class 8 will reopen on February 23 (today).

It is pertinent to mention here that the state Government yesterday issued fresh guidelines for schools as part of the precautionary measures against possible resurgence of the deadly virus in the state.
