Residents of Twin City to get e-permission for marriage, funeral during lockdown

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to simplify the process for granting permission for marriage and funeral in the Twin City during the ongoing state-wide lockdown, the Police Commissionerate today launched a web-based solution.

Those who want to apply for license to organize marriage or funeral function can visit the link “Apply for Marriage/Funeral License” on the Commissionerate Police website – www.bhubaneswarcuttackpolice.gov.in The same web-based solution can be directly accessed at 115.243.153.201:8088/Admin/Login.

The permission seeker can apply at least before 72 hours of the programme and fill up the required information.

The Commissionerate Police will send the permission for marriage and funeral through an SMS and WhatsApp message. Also, invitees will get individual SMS that they can use as permission to commute from their place of stay to function venue.

As per the lockdown guidelines issued by the Special Relief Commissioner, maximum 50 persons can attend marriage programme whereas there is a limit of 20 persons for funeral.

In a statement, the Police Commissionerate stated currently the web-based system is applicable for marriage and funeral functions to be held in Bhubaneswar UPD jurisdiction only. The e-permission facility will be launched for Cuttack UPD shortly.

The permission for marriage and funeral which is being provided through Bhubaneswar DCP and Cuttack DCP offices at present will be provided in the web-based system. The move is aimed at reducing people’s visit to the DCP offices for the permissions during the lockdown, said Saumendra Priyadarshi, Commissioner of Police.

The web-based solution has been developed by the Commissionerate Police in association with Oasys Tech Solution.
