Respite from heatwave in Odisha! Low pressure likely next week

Bhubaneswar: There could be respite from heatwave that is gripping entire Odisha as a low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal next week.

According to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, “A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Andaman Sea & neighborhood around May 4. Under its influence a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region during next 24 hours. It is likely become more marked during subsequent 24 hours.”

Odisha is reeling under intense heatwave with maximum places in interior and western parts of the State recording over 40 degree Celsius in a past few days.

By 11.30 am today, the maximum temperature touched 40.4 degree Celsius in Jharsuguda, 39.6 degree C in Keonjhar, 39.2 degree C in Sambalpur and 39 degree C in Bhubaneswar.
