Puri: Hotel Association of Puri (HAP) has announced 20 percent discount on food to local people who come forward and exercise their universal adult suffrage rights on May 25. The offer can be availed at all its member eateries in the pilgrim town, the outfit president Ramakrushna Dasmohapatra said today.

The right to franchise has been guaranteed by the Indian constitution to all citizens. Hence, bonafide voters of Puri district must exercise their fundamental right during the simultaneous polls to Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly, the District Electoral Officer and Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain appealed.

The hoteliers’ outfit here went a step forward and announced the offer to encourage local voters.

“Hotel association has joined hands with the district administration in this regard. We have decided to provide kits each containing toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, handkerchief, soap, hair oil etc to different officials who have been deployed in election duties in Puri district,” the association chief stated.

Worth mentioning, a meeting of the hoteliers’ outfit with the district administration was held yesterday afternoon at the residential office of the District Collector. Deputy Collector Rakesh Kumar Panda, district information & public relations officer Santosh Kumar Sethi, and several others participated in it.
