Result of Class 12 Science, Commerce out; girls outshine boys

Bhubaneswar: Results of the Class 12 Science and Commerce streams were declared at the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Bhubaneswar today evening. Announcing the results School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash stated in Class 12 Science stream a total of 94,532 students were assessed. Of them, 89,951 have passed.

As many as 50,198 were male students and 39,753 female students in Class 12 Science stream have passed as per the result assessed by the CHSE, the Minister added.

A total of 55,468 students secured First Division, 16,943 Second Division and 14,632 Third Division. In the Class 12 Science stream, the pass percentage is 95.15.

The Minister further stated pass percentage of male students is 94.46 whereas 96.03 percentage female students passed in Class 12 Science stream.

In the Class 12 Science stream, candidates securing more than 90% were 2,278. Last year the number of such candidates was 137.

Out of a total of 78,899 regular students, 78.809 passed. The pass percentage was 99.88. In case of ex-regular students, as many as 15,633 were assessed. Of them 11,142 ex-regular students have passed this year, the Minister added.

In Class 12 Commerce stream, 24,526 students were assessed. Of them, a total 23,292 students have passed in 2021. The pass percentage in the stream was 94.96.

A total of 14,757 male students constituting 94.39% of the total male students cleared the Class 12 Commerce stream whereas 8,535 girl students i.e. 95.97% passed in the course. The number of students secured First Division was 8,355, Second Division 5,692 and Third Division 9,066.

In case of regular students, 21,996 were assessed. Of them 21,906 passed and the pass percentage was 99.59%.

Among ex-regular students, 2,530 students filled up form and were assessed. A total of 1,386 students cleared and the pass percentage is 54.78%.

Class 12 Students of the Science and Commerce streams can check their marks by visiting the website www.orisssaresults.nic.in from 8 PM onwards and download their mark sheet. The results are also available on SAMS College e-space.

“If any student has any grievance about the result, he/she can lodge the same with the concerned Junior College Principal. After examining the grievance, the Principal will submit attested copies of the mark sheet and other documents along with a forwarding letter to the Examination Controller online. A notification in connection with this will be issued by August 6, 2021,” the Minister added.

He further stated if any ex-regular students have not appeared the CHSE exam once earlier, they can appear for an offline exam. Results of such students have been withheld.

“Even students unhappy with the result given after alternate assessment scheme today can also appear for an offline exam,” the Minister added.

As per the assessment formulated for the Class 12 students, regular students have been awarded scores in theory papers on basis of their performances in Class 10 board exam.

In case of ex-regular students, scores were awarded in theory papers on basis of their performances in previous CHSE Examination that they had appeared earlier.

Scores have been awarded to both regular and ex-regular students in case of practical and project components of a subject on basis of the marks obtained at their Higher Secondary School level.

Regarding the results of the Class 12 Arts and Vocational Education streams, the government had stated as more time are needed to examine the required papers, results of both the streams will be published after July 31.
