Results of Odisha college polls announced

Bhubaneswar, Sept 29:

The results of the polls held for the students unions of colleges and universities across Odisha today were announced this evening.

Here is the list of some of the winning candidates :

Ramadevi College – Swastipriya Das Nayak / Sradhanjali Mohanty
Maharshee College- Saroj Kumar Jena / Smruti Ranjan Mohanty
Rajdhani College – Shibsankar Hansda / Sujit Kumar Nayak

Post-poll violence was reported from some colleges including Fakir Mohan college ( Baleswar dist) and Anandpur college ( Keonjhar dist) and Bhadrak Autonomous College (Bhadrak dist). While the police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the violent student mob at FM College and Anandpur College. In Bhadrak College, where angry student supporters of defeated candidates ransacked college properties, there has been a heavy police deployment to bring the campus back to normalcy.
