Bhubaneswar, May 22:

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) is likely to announce the results of the annual Plus Two examinations in Odisha on May 30.

college examsWhile the tabulation process is in the final stage, preparation for certificates and mark sheets is underway.

“It has been decided that the results of Science, Arts, Commerce and Vocational streams would be announced simultaneously,” said a senior official of the Council.

He said since the number of students appearing the annual examination this year was more than 50,000 as compared to the last year, there was a slight delay in the computerisation of the mark sheets. Besides, due to delay in the e-evaluation of Science papers by 10 days, the Council received the mark foils of the students late. Computerisation of the mark foils would be completed in the next 3-4 days.

“After completion of the re-verification of the mark foils, the result sheets would be available by May 28 while the Council has planned to announce the results on May 30,” he said.

However, CHSE chairman Prof Basudeb Chhatoi said though the date for announcement of results has not been fixed, the Council is trying to announce the results by the end of May.

“Since the Council has decided to announce the results of all streams simultaneously, there would be problems if it fails to meet its deadline,” he added.

He, however, said the Council has decided to announce the Science results before June as it is mandatory for the students qualifying the JEE Main results to submit their mark sheets to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to decide their ranks.

“Considering the above, the Council would submit the Science result sheets to the CBSE by June 10,” Chhatoi informed.

He also said since a majority of students are deprived of admission and entrance test due to delay in re-verification of answer sheets which takes 8-10 months, the Council has decided to complete the process within four months this year.

“Students seeking re-verification of their papers, have to apply within a month of the announcement of results while the Council will announce their results within three months after re-verification,” he said.

He, however, said since it is not possible to re-verify the papers at the Council office, it has been decided that it will be done at the evaluation centres where the Council would send a list of applicants.

“The examiners, after re-verifying the papers in the specified timeline, will send these to the Council which has planned to send the Xerox copy and the revised mark list of the students to their e-mail ID,” Chhatoi said.
