Results of Odisha Civil Services Exam-2018 declared, Debasis Panda tops

Bhubaneswar: Results of the Odisha Civil Services Examination, 2018 conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) were declared today. A total of 218 candidates including 72 women were selected for appointment to the post/services coming under the Odisha Civil Services (Group-A and Group-B), a notification issued by the Commission said.

Debasis Panda has secured the top position in the Odisha Civil Services Examination. Rituparna Mohapatra and Akash Kumar Panda have secured the second and third positions in the exam.

In his reaction, Debasis, a resident of Bonaigarh, said, “I am extremely happy, but did not expect to top the exam. I have got the fruits of my labour.”

In his first attempt, Debasis was unsuccessful in the prelims examination. But he was determined to clear the Odisha Civil Services Examination while pursuing MSc (Agronomy).

He collected materials online and studied as preparation for the written examinations. The OAS topper devoted six-eight hours extra time for the preparation.

“As I wanted to do public service and reach out people, the OPSC will give a broaden way to achieve the goal,” he said.

He attributed hard work, the blessing of parents and family and god’s wish for his success.

“I have not taken joined any coaching centre for written examinations. However, while preparing for the interview, I went for a coaching centre for guidance,” he added.

Personality test of the exam was held from December 17 to 28, 2019.
