‘Results would have been better had Naveen babu campaigned’

Bhubaneswar, Feb 19:

Senior BJD leaders feel that had party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik campaigned for the party in the panchayat polls, the party’s fortunes would have been certainly better.

“Had Naveen babu campaigned for party candidates at three-four poll meetings, then more people would have voted for party candidates. Still whatever has been achieved is good,” said senior BJD leader and Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy.

“We are sad with the results but not frustrated,” Maharathy added.

Similar feelings were echoed by senior BJD leader and party spokesperson Surya Narayan Patro.

“Had Chief Minister attended the poll campaign it’s likely that we would have got some more votes. Because he is a superstar,” said Patro.
