Army personnel shot dead in Odisha’s Nayagarh over land dispute

Nayagarh: An Army personnel was allegedly shot dead by his neighbour over land dispute at Krushnaprasad village under Itamati police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, today. The deceased was identified as Anirudha Nayak (25).

According to reports, a land-related dispute was prevailing between Nayak and his neighbour. A quarrel ensued between the two this morning and took a violent turn as the accused opened fire multiple rounds of bullets on him.

Nayak sustained critical injuries in the firing and died on the spot.  Four persons were injured in the incident and hospitalised.

Police forces have been deployed in the village to avoid any further untoward incident and keep the situation under control.

Investigation by police was underway.
