Cuttack: A Revenue Inspector (RI) was found hanging under mysterious circumstances at Nischintakoili Tehsil Office in Odisha's Cuttack district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay Das. He was working in the Tarat section of Nischintakoili block.

Several employees of the office spotted the body hanging from a ceiling fan on the upper floor of the building and informed the police about it.

Cops recovered the body for post-mortem and started an investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which he died.

On the other hand, his daughter alleged that he had been subjected to harassment by his superiors. She said her father's health had deteriorated due to stress at work and he was unwillingly transferred. She claimed that the transfer and workplace harassment drove her father to end his life.
