RI, sarpanch among five arrested for preparing fake certificates in Odisha’s Bargarh

Bargarh: A revenue inspector (RI) and a sarpanch along with three others were arrested for preparing fake caste, residential and character certificates in Bargarh district, today. Both RI and sarpanch are from Bargarh and the three others are from Uttar Pradesh (UP), a senior police official said.

According to an official source, the arrested are Birpal Singh, Bablesh Kumar and Ravikant, all from three villages under Dholna police limits in Kasganj district of UP, including Sukuda RI Sandip Kumar Satapathy and Dumelpali sarpanch Manoranjan Dora. The five were arrested based on an FIR previously lodged by Bhatli Sub-Inspector Padmavati Mirdha. A case was registered later on and a probe was initiated.

During a detailed investigation, it was ascertained that the accused RI and sarpanch were assisting the three persons from UP in committing the crime to earn easy money and to become richer.

Notably, RI Satapathy and sarpanch Dora were taking a high amount to prepare the certificates.
