Pritirani Mohanty, mother of deceased engineering student Ashutosh Mohanty alias Rishi today lodged a written complaint at the Khandagiri police station in the Odisha capital.

Pritirani in her complaint urged the police to expedite the probe into the mysterious death of her son which she suspected to be a case of murder, reports said.

She further urged the police to bring friends of her son especially Sourav Kumar Nanda of Bapuji Nagar who had stayed with her son on the night before his death and his girlfriend within the purview of the investigation, reports added.

It may be mentioned here that yesterday Rishi’s mother and sister Sonali Mohanty had demanded before the media for a reinvestigation into Rishi’s mysterious death.

Earlier in the day, the Twin City Commissionerate police formed a special team headed by Bhubaneswar Zone-III ACP Tapan Pattnaik to investigate Rishi’s alleged murder.

“An UD (unnatural death) case was registered in the case. Now, ACP Zone-III would probe the matter. Viscera report and the post-mortem report would be examined. Relevant persons would be called for interrogation. If needed, other persons might be summoned,” Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi had said.
