Road accidents claimed over 4,000 lives in Odisha last year: Report

New Delhi, Sep 14:
As many as 4,217 people were killed and 11,606 were injured in 10,356 separate road accidents in Odisha last year, according to data released by Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The report states that 3380 accidents took place due to overloading which claimed lives of 1,350 people while 231 died in bus accidents.
Similarly, 427 people were killed in 972 different accidents due to drunken driving.
On an average, 12 people died in a day due to accidents in the state in 2015.
