Robber critically injured as bomb explodes accidentally in Odisha
Kamakhyanagar: Looting a businessman by scaring him with a bomb cost dearly to three looters in Dhenkanal district today. While snatching a bag containing cash and a mobile phone from one Abhaya Biswal from Mendhapada village of the district, the three motorcycle-borne miscreants hurled a bomb at him.
To their utter surprise, the bomb exploded in the hands of one of the looters. This led to grievous injuries to the miscreant.
When businessman Abhay along with his son was returning from the weekly haat on a motorcycle, the three miscreants riding another motorcycle intercepted them near Ganthihuda and tried to took a bag containing Rs 8,000 cash and his mobile phone. After the businessman and son opposed the loot, a scuffle ensued with the miscreants.
In the meantime, one of the looters threw the bomb at Abhay. But accidentally, the bomb exploded near another looter causing critical injuries to him.
The two accomplices carried the injured looter on their motorcycle and fled the spot. While trying to admit the injured at a private hospital in Banrapal of Angul district, the police nabbed the three looters.
