Roller Skating: 18-member team from Odisha to attempt for Guinness Book of World Records

Bhubaneswar: An 18-member team from Odisha Skating Academy in Kalinga Stadium, and various other places of the State are to attempt for the Guinness Book of World Records in 72 hours of non-stop Roller Skating Relay to be held at Shivganga Roller Skating in Belgaon of Karnataka.

An attempt for the rare feat will be made between May 28 and May 31, 2024.

According to a spokesperson of the academy, the selected roller skaters are Biren Das from DPS Kalinga School in Cuttack, Sayesha Mohanty from DAV Pokhariput in Bhubaneswar, Aryan Ojha and Adhya Toshani from KIIT International School in Bhubaneswar, Sandeep Sahoo from Venkateswar School in Bhubaneswar, Rohit Bhoi from St. James Convent School in Baleswar town, Sai Sriyanshu Rout from Chandrasekharpur DAV in Bhubaneswar, Adwaita Kumar Nath, Ayush Jena, Sudiksha Swain, Shravan Prakash, and Pratil Arnav Jena, all from Sai International School in Bhubaneswar, Aashlesh Nayak from Mother’s Public School, Bhubaneswar, Harshit Kumar Mallick from ODM Global School in Bhubaneswar, and Tharunika Arthanari, Rishwanth Arthanari and former State Champion, National Player and founder of Odisha Skating Sports & State Secretary Partha Sarathi Jena.

Jena, a noted contingent for the international event, is to lead the 18-member team from Odisha.

“We all are very much positive, excited, and looking forward to achieving the international title of Guinness World Records for the State,” said the team leader Jena.
