Rourkela: Miscreants loot gold ornaments worth Rs 60 lakh from jeweller

Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants allegedly stabbed a jeweller and looted gold ornaments worth Rs 60 lakh from him near Railway Colony in Odisha’s Rourkela city, today.

The victim, identified as Pradeep Kumar Soni, a resident of Basanti Colony here, sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

According to reports, Pradeep had gone to Kolkata to buy the ornaments. He returned to Rourkela in Azad Hind Express train, this morning.

While he was heading towards his house carrying the valuables on a scooter, three miscreants intercepted him.

The trio then attacked him with knife and snatched away the bag containing the gold ornaments.

Police have started an investigation into the incident while efforts were on by cops to trace and apprehend the looters.
