RRB Exam 2021: Odisha govt waives quarantine norm for candidates from outside State

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam starting from March 3, 2021, the Odisha government today provided a relief to candidates from outside the state appearing for the competitive examination.

Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, PK Mohapatra said a person establishing his/her identity with a copy of the RRB exam admit card will be exempted from the mandatory home quarantine.

Worth mentioning, in view of the upsurge in Covid cases in some parts of the country, the State government earlier asked the district administrations and municipal corporation Commissioners to ensure people arriving from the five high-risk states complete the seven-day home isolation upon their arrival. The asymptomatic passengers with RT-PCR negative report or a Covid vaccination final certificate were exempted from the home isolation.

The Odisha government issued the precautionary measures to passengers from Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh states.

Today, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department further stated, “But strict Covid appropriate behavior should be adhered to by all candidates appearing the RRB examination.”

In a letter to the Collectors and District Magistrates, Commissioners of Municipal Corporations, Directors of two airports, General Manager (Operations) East Coast Railways, Mohapatra stated the Chairman of RRB, Bilaspur of Chhattisgarh informed him that around 10,500 candidates are scheduled to appear for examinations at Bhubaneswar from March 3, 2021 to 31, 2021.

The admit cards for the RRB examinations have already been issued to the candidates much earlier, the letter mentioned.
