Rs 10 lakh looted from bank at gunpoint in Odisha Capital
Bhubaneswar: In a broad daylight heist, a miscreant looted Rs 10 lakh at gun point from a bank branch in Odisha Capital today afternoon.
At around 4:40 PM, a youth wearing mask entered the Bank Of India’s Barimunda branch on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar when the bank employees were closing the transactions for the day.
Brandishing a gun, the youth asked 10 employees of bank to remain silent without raising an alarm. He then went to the Cashier’s chamber and took away a cash box containing Rs 10 lakh and fled the spot on a motorcycle
After the bank officials lodged a complaint at local police station, a special team of police reached the bank’s branch and started investigation.
On September 8, a miscreant looted Rs 2.8 lakh at gunpoint from a branch of Indian Overseas Bank in Nandanvihar when two female employees were present in the bank. The Commissionerate Police is yet to nab the looter.
