Rs 2 cr IOCL aid to LV Prasad hospital for rural eye care in Odisha

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday announced that Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) would provide an assistance of Rs 2 crore to LV Prasad Eye Hospital, the premier eye care hospital in Odisha, to take eye care services to the people in rural areas of the state.


Pradhan handed over a sanction letter for Rs 2 crore to the vice president of the Bhubaneswar centre of the LV Prasad Eye Hospital Dr Taraprasad Das at a function here.

A centre to be named ‘Indian Oil-LVP Centre for Rural Eye Health’ would be opened at the Bhubaneswar LV Prasad Hospital with the money. The centre would take steps to provide eye care to people in rural areas and help prevent blindness through early detection and cure.

Indian Oil has stepped in to provide eye care to the people in rural areas, which is a major problem in the state, as part of its corporate social responsibility, Pradhan said on the occasion.
