Rs 28.5 lakh looted at gunpoint in Odisha

Konark/Balasore: A total of Rs 28.5 lakh were allegedly looted at different places in the State this afternoon.

While a private bank staff was going towards his office to deposit Rs 19.5 lakh cash, six miscreants in three motorcycles intercepted him near Gopalpur Chhak in Nimapada of Puri district. At gunpoint, the miscreants snatched the bag containing cash from the bank staff and fled the spot.

After a complaint was lodged, police have started an investigation into the loot case.

In another incident, some miscreants looted Rs 9 lakh from a man after pointing a gun towards him near Jamalpur bypass in Balasore district.
