Rs 303 crore sanctioned for development of Cuttack railway station: Vaishnaw

Cuttack: The Indian Railways has sanctioned Rs 303 crore for the development of Cuttack station, said Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw here today.

“Cuttack railway station will have world-class facilities. The Centre has allocated around Rs 10,000 crore for the railways sector in Odisha for 2023-24 fiscal. The Indian Railways has decided to redevelop as many as 57 railway stations in the state,” said Vaishnaw at the flagging off ceremony of Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town-Bhadrak MEMU here.

Vaishnaw along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan flagged off the inaugural run of Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town-Bhadrak MEMU at Cuttack railway station on the occasion of Sriram Navami today.

This train will provide facilities to the public of the respective regions for direct journey instead of changing transportation facilities at intermediate places, said an official.

08555/08556 Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town-Bhadrak MEMU will leave Bhadrak at 0545hrs and will reach Nayagarh Town at 1155hrs. In the return direction, the train will leave Nayagarh Town at 1705hrs and will reach Bhadrak at 2245hrs. The train will have stoppages at all stations and passenger halts between Bhadrak and Nayagarh Town from both the directions, added the official.
