RS adjourned sine die, Ansari unhappy over regular disruption

New Delhi, April 12

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on Wednesday with Chairman Hamid Ansari expressing displeasure over regular disruption of the proceedings of the House during the budget session.

Adjourning the House by the end of the Question Hour, Ansari asked the members to “introspect” on how the continuous disruption deprived members of the opportunity to seek accountability of the executive through questions and discussions on matters of public interest.

“Regular and continuous disruptions characterised this session. The symbolism of dignified protests, so essential for orderly conduct of parliamentary proceedings, was abandoned,” Ansari said.

He said all sections of the House ignored the rules and peace prevailed only when obituaries were read. (IANS)
