Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) Executive Director, Works BP Burma was today arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly receiving bribe.
The Central investigating agency arrested Burma on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to pass a tender, reports said.
The CBI has also arrested the person who had allegedly given the bribe to Burma. He has been identified as Binay Kumar Singh, representative of a company which supplies refractories items to the RSP, sources said.
Notably, a 6-member team of the CBI had yesterday raided the house and office of Burma at Sector-19 here and reportedly seized Rs 20 lakh in denomination of Rs 2000 and some important documents during the search.
He was grilled by the CBI officials for around 6 hours before his arrest, sources added.
