RSP staffer found hanging under mysterious circumstances in Sundargarh

Rourkela: The body of an employee of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was recovered from his bedroom at Quarter No-B/187 of Sector-22 under Tangarpalli police limits of the city in Sundargarh, today.

The deceased was identified as 52-year-old Hadibandhu Majhi. He was working in Steel Melting Shop (SMS)-2 Department of the Plant here.

According to a senior official Hadibandhu was residing in the quarters along with his wife and daughter. The man went to sleep in a room after having his dinner yesterday night. His wife and daughter slept in a separate room. After he did not open the door for quite a long time in the morning, the door was broken open to see him hanging inside the bedroom.

On being informed, Tangarpalli police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered an unnatural death (U/d) case in this connection and launched a probe. Primary evidence suggests that Hadibandhu has died by suicide, the senior official said.

The actual reason behind the untimely death of Hadibandhu has not been ascertained yet.
