Bhubaneswar: The Mahila police today arrested Pradip Pradhan in a case filed by athlete Dutee Chand, a police official said.

The accused has been apprehended under Sections 506, 35(4)a, 385 and 120(b) of the IPC.

As per information, a digital channel had made a post over Dutee's 'poor performance' in the Olympics while Pradhan had shared it on a social media platform.

Alleging that the post caused mental harassment to her, Dutee had filed a complaint with the police against the editor of the channel and Pradhan. Police had then arrested the editor while no action was taken against the RTI activist.

Dutee had recently moved the Orissa High Court seeking action against Pradhan. The court had ordered the police to take necessary action against him.

After being questioned by cops at the police station today, Pradhan was arrested.
