RTI activist shot dead in Odisha, police probe on

Kandhamal: A right-to-information (RTI) activist was allegedly shot dead by two miscreants in Baliguda area of Kandhamal district today.

The deceased was identified as Abhimanyu Panda of Patrasahi under Baliguda police station limits. This afternoon, two miscreants call Abhimanyu out of his house and fired shots at him. The attackers then fled the spot.

Abhimanyu was rushed to the Baliguda hospital where doctors declared him dead.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and started an investigation.

Irked over the incident, locals staged a road blockade at Gandhi Chhak and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
