Rutuparna Panda from Odisha selected in Indian badminton team

Bhubaneswar: Shuttler Rutaparna Panda from Odisha has been selected to be a part of the Indian badminton team at Tong Yun Kai Cup 2019-the second edition of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships to be held in Hong Kong starting today.

Following the development, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter to congratulate the young badminton player.

To give an exposure to talented youngsters, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) has selected seven young shuttlers in the women’s squad for the upcoming event. HS Prannoy will lead the 13-member Indian badminton team at badminton championships that would conclude on March 24.

While eleven teams have been divided into four groups for the championship, India has been placed in Group B alongside Chinese Taipei and Singapore.
