Actor-producer Aamir Khan on Monday said his friend Salman Khan's "raped woman" comment was unfortunate and insensitive.

At the poster launch of "Dangal" here, Aamir was asked about his reaction to Salman's comment which stirred up a hornet's nest.

Aamir said: ""I feel.... I was not present there... (But) going by the media reports, what he has said is rather unfortunate or rather insensitive."

Asked if he spoke to his "Andaaz Apna Apna" co-actor or gave him any advice, Aamir said: "No I didn't speak to him... And who am I to give him advice."

Salman courted controversy after he said during a media interaction that he felt like a "raped woman" walking out of a ring in his role as a wrestler in his upcoming film "Sultan". He later said, "I don't think I should have" and explained that he found it hard to walk.

His comment didn't go down too well with a lot of people. The National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Shiv Sena even demanded a public apology from Salman. He sent in a letter to NCW via his lawyer but the organisation said it was not an apology.

Now Salman has been summoned by the NCW on July 8. (IANS)
