Samaleswari Express train mishap: Investigators visit site, quiz eyewitnesses in Odisha

Rayagada: In the wake of Samaleswari Express catching fire after ramming into a Tower Car that resulted in the death of three persons, the Commissioner of Railway Safety Kolkata A K Ray reached here to inspect the accident site today.

He also visited Keutaguda and Singapur Road railway stations and spoke to eyewitnesses regarding the mishap.

While East Coast Railway suspended four persons for dereliction of duty, Divisional Traffic Inspector Santosh Kumar Behera was suspended by Vishakhapatnam DRM Chetan Srivastava, yesterday.

Srivastava, along with DRM and technical teams also visited the accident spot for assessment on June 26 and returned to Vishakhapatnam today. Furthermore, a 10-member team led by Deputy Commissioner of Railway Safety (East Coast Railway) Saroj Kumar Sahoo also surveyed Keutaguda and Singapur Road railway stations, yesterday.
