Samantha reacts to rumours of abortion, cheating; Here’s what she said

Bhubaneswar: Actress Samantha today reacted to the rumours of abortion and cheating, which had emerged after her split with Naga Chaitanya. Following her separation from Naga Chaitanya, rumours of her affairs outside of marriage and abortions were doing the rounds.

Samantha took to Instagram stories and wrote, “Your emotional investment into a personal crisis has overwhelmed me. Thank you all for showing deep empathy, concern and for defending me against false rumours and stories that are being spread. They say I had affairs, never wanted children, that I am an opportunist and now that I have had abortions. A divorce in itself is an extremely painful process. Let alone allowing me the time to heal. This attack on me personally, has been relentless. But I promise you this, I will never allow this or anything else they say, break me.”

Star couple Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, son of Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, announced their separation on October 2, after four years of marriage.

Samantha was offered a whopping Rs 200 crore by Naga Chaitanya and his family as part of the marriage settlement. However, she refused to take the alimony, India Today reported.

Samantha said no to the alimony and doesn’t want to take a single penny from Naga Chaitanya or his family. She is currently focussing on her work, putting aside her personal issues, India Today reported quoting a source close to the actress.

She is heartbroken but doesn’t want any project that she is associated with to suffer because of her personal life, the source said.

The couple, popularly known as ChaySam, confirmed the separation news in an official statement from Naga Chaitanya, shared by Samantha, which they released on October 2. They requested their fans and media to allow them privacy.

In the statement addressed to “our well-wishers”, Naga Chaitanya said: “After much deliberation and thought, Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us.”

The couple were first seen together in Gautham Menon’s iconic 2010 Telugu movie, ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’.

Naga Chaitanya added in the shared statement: “We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support.”

The buzz about the marriage disintegrating had intensified last month after Samantha dropped ‘Akkineni’ from her name on her Twitter account, but neither addressed the rumours head-on. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya got married in Goa in 2017.
