Sambad Group itself a brand in Odisha: Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today hailed Sambad, Odisha’s leading daily, for its contribution in building the brands of the state.

“Sambad Group itself is a strong brand of Odisha in field of media. I thank this group for taking initiative to promote the brands of Odisha,” Patnaik said in his address at ‘Sambad Corporate Excellence Awards 2020’ held at Hotel Mayfair in Bhubaneswar.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Mos (Home) Dibyashankar Mishra graced the occasion as guests.

Sambad Group Chairman and Sambad Editor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Sambad Group Managing Director Monica Nayyar Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan lighted the ceremonial lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the initiative by Sambad Group has a very significant and invisible impact in building a culture of brand building among entrepreneurs of the state.

“Building a strong brand identity is as vital to any business organisation. A business just can’t survive without brand awareness and loyalty. Nothing is more satisfying than retaining the customers. And, it is the brand recall that works for this,” the CM said.

The strong brands contribute immensely to both state and country as they add value to the overall economy, create jobs and bring prosperity.

He termed the captains of industries and business leaders as ‘assets and brand ambassadors’.

“Today, Brand Odisha itself is seeing a major transformation through sports, industry, tourism, health and many more development aspects. We have been able to consistently attract the highest investment because of this. Investors see us a responsive government with our 5T initiative and quick grounding of projects,” Patnaik said.

Addressing the august gathering, Sambad Editor said,”Dharmendra Pradhan needs no introduction. He is the emerging brand in Odisha. The other established brand of Odisha is Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who has been ruling the state for the last two decades.”

“Both Sambad and Soumya Babu are the brands of Odisha,” said Pradhan in his inaugural address.

“The world witnessed industrial revolution in past four decades. Computer was introduced during IR 3.0  before  IR 4.0. A person with deep insight can adopt IR 3.0 in newspaper four decades ago in the state, which has still long way to go in field of economy. Those personalities can take the society to the next level in development, said Pradhan adding, “I am honoured to attend the 3rd edition of Brand of Odisha conclave organised by Sambad.

In the later half of the ceremony, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Dibyashankar Mishra took to the dais.

“Let us take a pledge to put Odisha on the global map and fulfill the vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The state has come a long way. When we came to power in 2000, the state budget was pegged at Rs 11500 crore and now it has increased to Rs 1.38 lakh crore. Odisha has done well in terms of rural connectivity, disaster mitigation, decreasing IMR and MMR, and agriculture sector in the last 20 years. The state received appreciation from Union government and international agencies. We would now work towards making the state number one in the country,” Dibyashankar Mishra said.

Sambad Editor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik praised Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for serving the people of Odisha since past two decades. He termed Patnaik as ‘Brand of India’.

“CM Naveen Patnaik has now become a brand for entire country. He is the icon for those, who are dreaming big with a strong vision in politics and other fields. The political pundits are now trying to decode the secret of his success in politics,” the legislator said.

He further said that the state is proud to have two brands so far.

“Odisha has Lord Jagannath as its permanent brand for which the CM has undertaken various projects for promotion of Lord Jagannath and Jagannath culture. And, the other is Naveen Patnaik,” he said.

Moderating the sessions, Monica Nayyar Patnaik said: “The award recognizes the brands that have made the state proud. We are overwhelmed to receive the number of eligible entries. We received entries from across the state.”
