Sambad’s song competition: Supali from Balasore winner

Bhubaneswar: Supali Mohapatra from Balasore district won ‘Sa Re Ga Ma‘ song competition conducted by leading vernacular Daily ‘Sambad’ and its sister wing ‘Radio Choklate’ here on Wednesday.

Supali, the student of Guru Harekrushna Behera College of Art and Culture, emerged as the winner followed by Khallikote Junior College student Saina Rath and Sambalpur University’s Som Panda in the competition held on eve of Sambad’s 34th foundation day at Jayadeb Bhawan.

Total 27 contestants selected from nine edition zones of the Sambad for final round enthralled the audience with powerful performance singing the songs in various genres including ‘Mithe mithe Bol…’, ‘Dulhe ka sehera suhana lagta hai…’ Janha go tume jhurana…’in the event.

Veteran Odia singers Pranab Patnaik, Gita Patnaik and Pankaj Lal were the judges in the song competition.

The successful candidates will be awarded during foundation day celebration scheduled today.
