Sambalpur: Hirakud Dam closes all gates as water inflow decreases

Sambalpur: The Hirakud dam in Sambalpur district closed all sluice gates with a decrease in water inflow into the reservoir.

In view of less rainfall in the upper catchment area of the Mahanadi River, the authorities of the dam today issued an order to close two more sluice gates.

With this, no sluice gate remained open to release water from the dam into downstream.
