Sambalpur: Sambalpur police today arrested three criminals and seized illegal arms and ammunition from their possession.
The accused persons were identified as Md. Jawed Akhtar (33), Anwar Ali (35) and Nishar Ahmad (37), all residents of Sambalpur district.
The police seized five arms and ammunition (two country-made pistols and 3 bullets), one mobile phone and one car registered in name of one Omprakash Majhi of Sambalpur district.

A case in this regard has been registered at Dhanupali Police Station under sections 25(1)(a)/25(1-B)(a)/27(1) of Arms Act.
While Nishar Ahmad aka Goppu is involved in various criminal cases under different sections of IPC and Arms Act, Amwar Ali Khan alias Sikan is involved in a criminal case.
