BJD MLA from Baripada Sananda Marandi will be the Deputy Speaker of the 15th Odisha Assembly.

Chief minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik today proposed Marandi’s name of as the party’s candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker.

Marandi was the Deputy Speaker in the last Assembly.

The young tribal leader from Mayurbhanj filed his nomination papers for the election of the Deputy Speaker in presence of the chief minister Naveen Patnaik today.

However, that was a mere formality because he is all set be elected unopposed.
