Bhubaneswar, July 3:

The chief of the ponzi firm Saradha Group Sudipta Sen was brought to Odisha today.

A team of the Odisha Enforcement officials and Kolkata police brought Sen to Bhubaneswar, where he would be produced before the court of the District Sessions Judge later in the day.

The Economic Offences Wing of the state Crime Branch had sought the remand of the  Saradha Group chief  for interrogation in connection with offences committed by the group in Odisha.

Both movable and immovable properties of the Saradha Group were attached in December 2013 following a  Finance department order on November 30 .  Nine plots of land measuring a total of 13.64 acres at Srikona near Baleswar and a petty amount of Rs 2740 deposited with the local IDBI Bank branch had been confiscated. The nine plots were bought by Sudipta Sen and Debika Dasgupta on behalf of M/s Saradha Realty Private Ltd.

The order said these properties were allegedly procured from and out of the deposits collected by the chit fund group.
