Sarpanch’s son among 2 killed by Maoists in Odisha on suspicion of being police informers

Bhubaneswar: The son of a Sarpanch among two villagers in Belaghara police station area of Kandhamal district were allegedly killed by Maoists last night on suspicion of being police informers.

Bodies of the two were found at separate places in the PS area this morning. While one body was recovered near Bhandarangi Panchayat office, another found near Guchaguda village.

Reportedly, the Ultras belonging to Bansadhara-Ghumsar-Nagabali Division of CPI (Maoist) also put up a handwritten poster accusing the two deceased of providing information to police about five members of the banned outfit who were killed in an encounter in September last year.

Through the poster, the Maoists warned other ‘informers’  to surrender before Jan Adalat within 15 days else, they will be sentenced to death. And, the state Government, DGP  Abhay and IG (Intelligence) RK Sharma will be held responsible for the loss of lives, the poster read.
