As per belief, observing the Saubhagya Sundari Vrat brings positivity and good fortune in life.

Unmarried girls also keep the Saubhagya Sundari Teej Vrat to get free from Manglik Dosha and adverse planetary positions in their Kundali.

Saubhagya Sundari Vrat Rituals:

On this day, women get up at sunrise and take a bath. They wear the 16 adornments of married women like mehendi, kumkum, bangles, vermillion and anklet.

Married women perform the puja of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The idols of the God and Goddess are draped in a red cloth and placed on a wooden platform.

Diyas are lit in front of the idols and offerings are made to the deities in the form of moli, roli, chawal, supari and pan.

The idol of Goddess Parvati is decorated with the 16 adornments.

Lord Ganesha is offered the first prayers during the puja.

Nine planets and the complete family of Lord Shiva are worshipped during the pja.

After the puja, a Brahmin is invited to the house and served food, followed by offering of clothes as ‘dakshina’.

Women keep fast on this day. They do not eat or drink during the day. The fast is broken after completing all the puja rituals.
