Savitri Ratho appointed as judge of Orissa High Court

Cuttack: The President of India today appointed Savitri Ratho as the new judge of the Orissa High Court, an official notification said.

“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (l) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Miss Savitri Ratho, to be a Judge of the Orissa High Court with effect from the date she assumes charge of her office,” the notification read.

The Supreme Court Collegium had in January recommended elevation of Ratho as Judge of the Orissa High Court. Worth mentioning, she is the daughter of former Odisha DGP Prafulla Ratho.

She is also the third woman to become a judge of the Orissa HC after Justice Amiya Kumari Padhi and Justice Sanju Panda.
