The State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced online account for its customers.
The online account application is provided on the home page of the corporate website www.sbi.co.in , www.statebankofindia.com and on the home page of internet banking portal www.onlinesbi.com .
After filling in the personal information, the system generates and displays a Temporary Customer Reference Number (TCRN).
The applicant can approach within 30 days any branch of choice and present original and copies of KYC (Know Your Customer) documents for activation of the account. Those who do not have internet facility can use the services of cyber cafés. Internet kiosk at some SBI branches can also be used for opening online accounts, an SBI release said.
