SCB nursing students to stage demo in front of Odisha Assly Monday

The students of School of Nursing at SCB Medical College and Hospital today announced to hold a demonstration in front of Odisha Assembly from tomorrow demanding transfer of principal who had allegedly made casteist remark and meted out ill-treatment to a student.

The aggrieved students will sit on a dharna pressing for action against Principal Kajal Rani Sinha for her alleged casteist remark and ill-treatment to a student.

The students have threatened to continue with their stir till action is initiated against her.

On the other hand, the complaint against the principal is increasing as 10 more students yesterday filed a complaint against her at Mangalabag police station alleging that they have been assaulted in the past.

Prior to this, the students had also met District Collector yesterday seeking for either transfer or suspension of the principal. Besides, they also urged the Collector to take necessary action to revoke the sine die order.

The striking students have said that they would continue with their strike on the campus after revocation of sine die, if action is not initiated aginst her till then.
