Schedule of fresh poll for first-phase Odisha panchayat election declared

The State Election Commission (SEC) today announced dates for re-poll in 62 polling booths across 11 districts in which incidents of rigging and violence were reported during the first-phase polling for the three-tier panchayat polls in the state on Monday.

The Commission said fresh polls in these booths will be held between 18th and 21st of this month.

Fresh polls will be held on February 18 in polling booths in Balasore, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Nuapada and Dhenkanal districts where rigging and violence were reported.

On the following day, fresh polls will be held in Kantamal block of Boudh district while polling will be held in 13 booths in Puri on February 20.

Besides, fresh polling will be held in four booths in Koraput and Bhadrak respectively on February 21.
