Cuttack: A clerk of a state-run school was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials while taking bribe from a teacher of the same school in Cuttack today.
The accused has been identified as Narayan Sahoo, posted as the clerk at Bhakta Madhu Vidya Pitha.
A team of Vigilance sleuths of Cuttack division caught the accused red-handed while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant Sumanta Kumar Dhanik, Assistant Teacher of Bhakta Madhu Vidya Pitha, to prepare his 40% arrear bill of Rs 43,000.
The officials recovered the bribe amount from Sahoo and seized it.
A Vigilance case has been registered in this connection.
